The Heart of Texas is a 2009 American documentary from Plaid Shirt Pictures and Media Tech, Inc.. Texas State Senator Dan Patrick (Texas politician) co-wrote the film with Mitchell Wright while serving as Executive producer.
The documentary is made up of individuals from Simonton, TX, Fulshear, TX and Wallis,TX where most of the movies participants reside. The film features Grover Norwood and Ulice Parker as the film’s primary story characters. On November 11, 2008, Plaid Shirt Pictures announced that the film would open in Houston area theaters on November 19, 2008. It has not been given an MPAA rating. The theatrical release was promoted through a partnership with KSEV Radio in Houston.
Plot: The Heart of Texas is the story of Grover Norwood and Ulice Parker. When tragedy pierces the heart of a small community on the quiet Texas plains, its townspeople witness what can happen when grace and forgiveness triumph over angiush and outrage. Against the clamorous traffic of our crowded lives, a story of such tender mercy can seem more of a work of fiction or a wishful tale…yet every moment of this story is true.
